JoJo x Gucci, an opinion (part 2)

It seems that in the last post I still have things left to babble about JoJo x Gucci, so let's continue! After successfully made Araki agreed to work with them, Gucci is literally dedicating them self to Araki (Gucci Japan, of course). Not only making the whole shop to be in Araki's vibrant style, but this thing also happened in other shops, not only in Shinjuku but also in 70 other shops! This is a big collaboration between a mangaka and a fashion brand, can you mention some other manga that collaborate this big with a fashion brand?

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o204/n_mee_panda/Jojos%20gucci/5.jpg
Not only whole 70 stores to be dressed in Araki's style, Gucci also presenting a fashion show for Araki's design! Not only once too! Well, for a mangaka to design for a clothing line is usual in Japan but to design for an international brand, it's new. Also, Araki is asked to draw JoJo fans to the fashion because it's actually not an issue before JoJo collaborate with Gucci.

So, I really think that JoJo, well, Araki, does have a cool talent in fashion. He's so unique, his uniqueness is still appropriate that it's actually ready to wear. Even before people realize it, Gucci already realize this talent. So, how about you? What do you think about this collaboration and Araki's talent?

JoJo x Gucci, an Opinion (part 1)

This is the biggest endorsement that JoJo ever had, if I must say, Gucci is like actually locking JoJo in to their brand. Not only once, but twice a manga about JoJo's character goes to Gucci making me thinking that Gucci is actually doesn't want to let JoJo go and keeps on making an opening for JoJo to work for them.

It's not only one or two clothes but a pack of clothes, made exclusively for JoJo, and it's not like Gucci forcing it's style to Araki, instead, Araki is being free on making the clothes, even if it looks more normal than other of Araki's work but the vibrant color make them looks so Araki!

Well, scratch my words about packs of clothes, Gucci even make a whole store to be Araki's. Talking about commitment. I, my self, actually quiet interested on visitng this place even if I can't buy, of course, the prices are making me cry, but it's Araki making a ready to wear clothes but still will make you feel that you're JoJo! How I want to buy one.

Passione, a JoJo Jewelry

Well, we're talking about Passione again (lol) it seems that I become really obsessed with Passione, like Passione's meaning, PASSIONATE! Ok, there is actually a brand that's based from JoJo! This is a jewelry brand, called Passione, making jewelries based on JoJo.  You can see their website at http://passionejojo.jp/shop/products/list.php still running and still updating!

ブラボー!おお・・・ブラボー!!
もいっぱああああつッ!スゲェー見えるッ!!レラレラレラレラ♪鏃大ネックレス

Look at those gorgeous jewelries! Well, unfortunately, this is quiet expensive, like real jewelries. Yeah, real expensive jewelries that cost million yens.

Passione also has a simple but nice website, when you hover your mouse on the product, you will be able to see this.

It will automatically zooming out on the product so you can see the detail of the products! For now, there're only five products and they're based from Stardust Crusader, Diamond is not Crash, and Steel Ball Run. They made Ring, Necklace, and Pierce (Earring in Japanese term).
If you're interested on buying one, you can go to it's website and start ordering, well, not to mention that you will also have to pay the shipping fee your self.

Seiko and JoJo Collaborate!

Talking about a brand endorser, JoJo is a manga that's really famous with fashion brands, one of them is Seiko. Seiko is one of the most famous watch brand, originated from Japan, Seiko is one of the brand that choose JoJo as it's endorser. Who doesn't want to work with JoJo, right? So, let's take a look at this cool watches.

If you are a JoJo fans, I'm sure you're aware that these watch are made based on Vento Aureo, JoJo arc 5. Awesome isn't it?

Even the poster is quiet classy but still, really attractive to see. The watch design too, is not as sophisticated as other watch but the classy theme and steampunk arrow makes it look so cool and for JoJo fans, it's so collectible!

There are seven watch that is based from Passione (the mafia gang on Vento Aureo) which is actually impossible to obtain now since it's made on 2011. But just looking at the watch like this, making you realize that the impact of JoJo is not just as simple as impact to fans, but also a cultural impact, a bussiness impact, right?

JoJo Inspired Task (Part III)

Next! We have Fleta and Reedra! These two girls are side characters on the graphic novel but I do have fun drawing them! Fleta is a soft girl, she's a bit a coward but she's really kind and motherly. She's a mother of a kid and she will be one of the character that's slaughtered in the end of the story. So I have a Yamato Nadeshiko image for her initial design, while the red Reedra is a demon that's stoic. I kinda have a dark magician feel on her.

But like Silvius and Clement, the initial design is changed, mainly due to the medieval studies (that I lack while I made the initial design, lol) so here's the final design!

While Reedra doesn't have much difference beside her clothes that is degraded to a slave (Reedra is a slave in the story), Fleta had a big change, Fleta still had the motherly character concept but I made her look more mature and more European. This design actually satisfied me, I like her color palette and hair!

Well this is the end of JoJo Inspired Task post, I will see you again in a different post!

JoJo Inspired Task (Part II)

Welcome back!
Today I will continue my babble about my JoJo inspired task, well, let's take a look about the initial design of my characters!

Clement and Silvius
Clement is the little bro of the main character and I think I should potray him as a man that's full of pride but actually he's just a bummer. At first I made him like this, many people think this is too noble for him so I changed his design, to this. (see below picture, the one below the kid). While Silvius is the main character's son, he's just a typical 7 years old kid who wants to be like his uncle and mother. At the initial design, I made him looks like a demon kid or something with the hair (lol) so I (with some inspiration of Game of Thrones) remake him as a normal kid with more proper clothes and nicer built.

Quiet a different guy now, isn't he? I changed the hair color and the clothing to make him look more pathetic (sorry, Clement). While for Silvius I made him looks like Bran Stark in peasant clothes, but of course there's more of him. I also change the attitude a little bit, I made Clement more furious and Silvius more childish to make them look natural.

That's all for Silvius and Clement, next post will be about Fleta and Reedra!

A JoJo Inspired Task (part 1)

Before we move on to another post that is directly related to JJBA Fashion, let's take a look at my.... task.
Yes.
My task.
I have a final assignment that I, directly and indirectly, inspired by JJBA. It's about the character palette, but I, actually want to put more of fashion in it but it seems that I can not do it due to copyright stuff I'm working on. Well, that aside, let's take a look at the final design of the characters!

What do you think?  I'm actually inspired by Vento Aureo's (JJBA Part V) color palette for this designs.
Vento Aureo characters (beside Giorno Giovanna) has non-bright colors such as dark chocolate, dark blue, black, white, etc. This is actually fits the medieval era that's the setting of the graphic novel. The member of Passione (a mafia group in Vento Aureo) gave me inspiration for the colors, since my graphic novel is a dark fantasy medieval I don't need a bright color if it's not for lighting effect lol.
So, yeah, basically Passione is my inspiration! Wanna take a look at my drawing process? Stay tuned and check for the next post!

JJBA Fashion History (Part II: Joseph Joestar)

Welcome back for some more JJBA FASHION!
Today I will continue the JJBA Fashion history, which, now I will be covering about Joseph Joestar, the main character of the second arc in JJBA called Battle Tendency. First of all, Joseph is a carefree character and is Jonathan’s grandson. Despite not having blood relation with Jonathan since Jonathan die before he could giving a successor with his wife, he also has a specialty like his granddad, that is the power of Ripple. It’s not known why Joseph able to use it but it’s said that it’s running in Joestar blood. Anyway, that’s not what I’m gonna blog about, of course, I’m gonna blog about Joseph’s fashion style! He’s quiet different with Jonathan, which having a “cute” way of dressing. So, let’s take a look!

Compared to his grandpa (which can you see in the post before this) he had a much more carefree look. Even if his attire is quiet tidy with the shirt and the tie, his hair shows us his carefree look, with the messy and spiky style. His color is quiet normal compared to his grandpa, but this attire looks ready to wear for me, I mean, we can still use it in our time and doesn’t look like our fashion is outdated. And once again, Araki made a good choice by adding a bright color as his tie. Araki sure knows where to add the bright color on his characters attire, isn’t he? So, Joseph’s casual attire is already nice, looks normal yet bad ass, and how about his alternate attire?

Yes it is his alternate attire. Flashy, bling, and so… Joseph. This is actually quiet fashionable for me, I’ve never seen a punk rock in JJBA before and this alternate attire is one of my favorite. Not only the color, but also Joseph’s hair becomes RED! The pants is a bit disturbing with his butt showing like that but the accessories and the flower printed shirt plus web printed jacket makes him looks uber cool! Also his shoes has a butterfly print on it, which is my favorite. Although the color is quiet flashy, the black on the pants is neutralizing it, not that much tho, but it successfully made this (actually) terrible dress to something that’s actually quiet a pleasant thing to see for a bright color fans like me. The Indian chain on the belt also make me giving a big point for this.

Phew, that was Joseph everyone.
Quiet different with Joseph, isn’t he? Well, next time I will bring you the other different type of JoJo, this time, is a Japanese Man who’s the main character on JJBA Part III called Stardust Crusader, and also, this time, he’s quiet a cool character! Well then, until next time, folks!

JJBA Fashion History (Part 1: Jonathan Joestar)

Good evening everyone!
Welcome to JJBA Fashion Blog! Today I would like to present you a fashion history in JJBA. As some of you may understand that JJBA already running for 25 years, aye? There must be some fashion change in the time being. Today I will guide you to JJBA’s fashion style from part 1 to part 3, which are the main series in JJBA history.

Part I: Phantom Blood
The first story of JJBA which having Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando as it’s main character. This is the most bizarre story of all JoJo Manga, in my opinion. It only has 5 volumes and still has a Hokuto no Ken styled art in the manga.

It looks a bit unusual for manga nowadays but it’s actually a popular style for young men’s manga in that era. But, me, my self do think that JJBA has it’s own unique drawing, even if it’s quiet similar to Hokuto no Ken which inspiring Araki (JJBA’s mangaka) to make JJBA. So what’s the unique thing that I found in Araki’s drawing? It’s this!

Pretty eyelashes.
Compared to Hokuto no Ken, this eye is quiet feminine.

Isn’t it?

I can say that Araki is already has a feminist side inside him since that time, manly mangas usually shows no side of femminity, even if it’s only eyelashes, I do think that thick and pretty eyelashes doesn’t support a manly hungky character. Especially if you have a body like this.

Alright, beside the eyelashes which is quiet an unique feature on a manly manga that time, JJBA also has another unique thing that actually, made it’s manga has female fans. I’m sure you guys already guess what is it, yes, it’s the fashion on the character that actually made JJBA had female fans, unlike Hokuto no Ken which having men as fan because of all the gore and nudity in it, JJBA has a softer story but still manly enough for a man to read. This weird fashion sense approach is a new thing that time, while the other manga focused on building manly characters like this

Araki build a different character instead. It is still manly, it is still a gentleman, but it’s not dressing as a manly manga character should be, you know, bare chest, scars along the way, instead, Jonathan Joestar has a bulky build but is also can be seen as a soft spoken man with positive traits, and still naïve. Quiet an interesting character isn’t he? Now let’s start undressing him from his teenager time!

Jonathan is a noble man, it’s quiet common in Victorian era that for a noble man, to wear a ribbon tie and socks, since showing part of your feet considered as immoral back then. While having a normal attire, Jonathan’s outfit does has a spark in there, you can see in the small details like the ribbon tie, which is colored bright purple and the socks with red motifs. The clothes it self is usual but the simple detail on it make it looks unusual!
Tips:
Like if you wear a simple LBD or Little Black Dress, you can just add a nice bling with a golden or silver bracelet or necklace. It’s always work that way. Or if you think you wear a dull attire, you could just add a spark with using bright colors as an accessories, but remember, do it as needed, don’t over do it.
Next up is Jonathan’s battle attire.

Please don’t mind his pose, he likes it that way.
We can see a naivety drawn in this attire, while Jonathan’s body is a bulky brawl, Jonathan is a fine gentleman who will never hurt things that is not needed to be hurted, he’s also a nice young man who always love to help each other, a real hero character. But this is what we call naivety. Jonathan, despite his skill in battle, he’s quiet a naïve man, he still believes in his brother who betrays him three times and this side of him, shown in his attire. He wear a childish attire with cute bag on his back, yes it is a back pack, a back pack like the one that elementary school children in Japan has.  I don’t find the accessories like the glove and the belt disturbing but the shirt, which is showing the hips part is kinda disturbing, or laughable matter.  This is indeed a different style in a shonen-manga hero.  Overall, I like this attire for the boots and the gloves, if they hadn’t been there, it’s screwed. The color is all dull and the addition of the blue color as a shirt won’t do either, but it’s showing us the naïve side of Jonathan so it’s kinda 50:50

That’s all about Jonathan, readers! Next time I’ll blog about Joseph! The main character from the second arc of JJBA, Battle Tendency! I hope you enjoy this post and see you guys later!

JJBA at Wonderland

Welcome to STTS Wonderland

Welcome back to my blog, everyone! Today I would like to make a photo essay about me, JJBA Fashion, and the JJBA LOOK A LIKE that I found in this STTS Wonderland Convention. It's not JJBA of course, since JJBA is not quiet popular here, but it's ok, if it's mainstream, fangirls will make JJBA quiet a terrible fandom.

Ok, let's get back to the topic, in this con, I was looking around for a thing that I could use as an essay, finally, I realized something, that the cosplayers on the place has bright colors to cosplayed as. It makes my works easier. First, I will talk about the hair, I found some interesting hair color and hair do on this con, like this:

Look at the blue and purple color, it looks like Jolyne's hair.

Bright and two-toned. But still looks cool! Yeah, that cosplayer was cosplaying as Vocaloid 3 called Lapis. But I do think that it's quiet JJBA Hair do! The asymmetry haircut and clash of the two color, which make a good harmony make Lapis' hair looks attractive and make people go "woah, quirky."

Lapis' outfit has the same color as her hair color so I'm not gonna say it as an awesome outfit, it's a safe outfit when you have same hair color and an outfit, as a fictional character. We can compare it to Jolyne's bright outfit that has different color for each apparel.

And next we have these hair:

they are characters from AKB0048, an anime about the popular Japanese Idol Group called AKB48. Brigh hair colors with matching outfit. I can compare this one to Jonathan and Caesar's costume!

They got their idol uniform, which is quiet a normal uniform, but I do find it interesting  because it was different from the hair color and they add small nice details like this:

Small detail like ribbon here is quiet a necessary thing to make an usual thing to be a stand out product, isn't it?

I was quiet happy that I could find many things that I could relate to JJBA on this con. It was quiet a happy con too I met with many cosplayers!

The Golden Jonathan, a figure review

Golden... Jonathan?
Aye! Today we will talk about JJBA's figure collection that I bought yesterday, fortunately I got the most beautiful one with Jonathan in Golden paint, don't worry, we will still talking about the fashion!
So, let's start~
Yesterday I went to mall, and stopped by a Hobby Shop in that mall. I was looking around, not intended to buy anything at first but then I saw this!
JJBA Figure Collection

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH JOJOJOJOJOJOJOJOJO!!!"
Yeah I was literally shouted like that. So I bought it immediately and look what I got!

THE GOLDEN JONATHAN

 GOLDEN JONATHAAAAAAAN
Ah yes, uhm, I'll stop fangirling for now, let's get back to the topic, shall we?

Side View
This figure is 7 cm tall and is fixed pose figure so you can't modify it. Made from PVC with special effect on the lower side, you know, male's favorite, power effect, yeah. The box is a bit damaged but the figure is all good! Made by Medicos and distributed by Organic. This cover is actually can be combined with other figure that you collected from the same series, like FUSION! But yeah, I'm too poor to buy two, I won't tell you the price! LOL Just kidding, it's only 500 Yen, which is quiet cheap, the store only have one of this so this thing is the last and I'm just quiet lucky to get one. This figure, despite the size is small, it has quiet a detail to it. Which, I will be reviewing now.

Front View

Let's talk about the clothes now, it still has Jonathan's initial clothes, but in gold color. The striking pose looks promising with that face and the body pose looks like it really can blow your face up.

Look at dem hand
The fashion of the JoJoPose is still there!! Look at the left hand, while the right hand is posing so manly the left hand doing a quiet... fancy pose.

Fancy. Fancy.
Cute.
Like, he's asking for a ball.

 Or... Butt.
I'm sorry I can't stop my self.
Yeah so, you can still feel the "JJBA" in it right? even if it's only 7 cm.
It also has better fashion than the initial Jonathan, since we only see gold color, the bag also worked in more detailed version than the anime.

You can see great detail on the clothes, the rope and the gloves that he used, also the hair, so detailed. This is why I praise Japanese figures. Overall, this small figure is quiet worth it to buy, it's cheap and beautiful! I wish I could buy another one of this to fusioned with.
