JoJo x Gucci, an opinion (part 2)

It seems that in the last post I still have things left to babble about JoJo x Gucci, so let's continue! After successfully made Araki agreed to work with them, Gucci is literally dedicating them self to Araki (Gucci Japan, of course). Not only making the whole shop to be in Araki's vibrant style, but this thing also happened in other shops, not only in Shinjuku but also in 70 other shops! This is a big collaboration between a mangaka and a fashion brand, can you mention some other manga that collaborate this big with a fashion brand?

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o204/n_mee_panda/Jojos%20gucci/5.jpg
Not only whole 70 stores to be dressed in Araki's style, Gucci also presenting a fashion show for Araki's design! Not only once too! Well, for a mangaka to design for a clothing line is usual in Japan but to design for an international brand, it's new. Also, Araki is asked to draw JoJo fans to the fashion because it's actually not an issue before JoJo collaborate with Gucci.

So, I really think that JoJo, well, Araki, does have a cool talent in fashion. He's so unique, his uniqueness is still appropriate that it's actually ready to wear. Even before people realize it, Gucci already realize this talent. So, how about you? What do you think about this collaboration and Araki's talent?

JoJo x Gucci, an Opinion (part 1)

This is the biggest endorsement that JoJo ever had, if I must say, Gucci is like actually locking JoJo in to their brand. Not only once, but twice a manga about JoJo's character goes to Gucci making me thinking that Gucci is actually doesn't want to let JoJo go and keeps on making an opening for JoJo to work for them.

It's not only one or two clothes but a pack of clothes, made exclusively for JoJo, and it's not like Gucci forcing it's style to Araki, instead, Araki is being free on making the clothes, even if it looks more normal than other of Araki's work but the vibrant color make them looks so Araki!

Well, scratch my words about packs of clothes, Gucci even make a whole store to be Araki's. Talking about commitment. I, my self, actually quiet interested on visitng this place even if I can't buy, of course, the prices are making me cry, but it's Araki making a ready to wear clothes but still will make you feel that you're JoJo! How I want to buy one.

Passione, a JoJo Jewelry

Well, we're talking about Passione again (lol) it seems that I become really obsessed with Passione, like Passione's meaning, PASSIONATE! Ok, there is actually a brand that's based from JoJo! This is a jewelry brand, called Passione, making jewelries based on JoJo.  You can see their website at http://passionejojo.jp/shop/products/list.php still running and still updating!

ブラボー!おお・・・ブラボー!!
もいっぱああああつッ!スゲェー見えるッ!!レラレラレラレラ♪鏃大ネックレス

Look at those gorgeous jewelries! Well, unfortunately, this is quiet expensive, like real jewelries. Yeah, real expensive jewelries that cost million yens.

Passione also has a simple but nice website, when you hover your mouse on the product, you will be able to see this.

It will automatically zooming out on the product so you can see the detail of the products! For now, there're only five products and they're based from Stardust Crusader, Diamond is not Crash, and Steel Ball Run. They made Ring, Necklace, and Pierce (Earring in Japanese term).
If you're interested on buying one, you can go to it's website and start ordering, well, not to mention that you will also have to pay the shipping fee your self.

Seiko and JoJo Collaborate!

Talking about a brand endorser, JoJo is a manga that's really famous with fashion brands, one of them is Seiko. Seiko is one of the most famous watch brand, originated from Japan, Seiko is one of the brand that choose JoJo as it's endorser. Who doesn't want to work with JoJo, right? So, let's take a look at this cool watches.

If you are a JoJo fans, I'm sure you're aware that these watch are made based on Vento Aureo, JoJo arc 5. Awesome isn't it?

Even the poster is quiet classy but still, really attractive to see. The watch design too, is not as sophisticated as other watch but the classy theme and steampunk arrow makes it look so cool and for JoJo fans, it's so collectible!

There are seven watch that is based from Passione (the mafia gang on Vento Aureo) which is actually impossible to obtain now since it's made on 2011. But just looking at the watch like this, making you realize that the impact of JoJo is not just as simple as impact to fans, but also a cultural impact, a bussiness impact, right?

JoJo Inspired Task (Part III)

Next! We have Fleta and Reedra! These two girls are side characters on the graphic novel but I do have fun drawing them! Fleta is a soft girl, she's a bit a coward but she's really kind and motherly. She's a mother of a kid and she will be one of the character that's slaughtered in the end of the story. So I have a Yamato Nadeshiko image for her initial design, while the red Reedra is a demon that's stoic. I kinda have a dark magician feel on her.

But like Silvius and Clement, the initial design is changed, mainly due to the medieval studies (that I lack while I made the initial design, lol) so here's the final design!

While Reedra doesn't have much difference beside her clothes that is degraded to a slave (Reedra is a slave in the story), Fleta had a big change, Fleta still had the motherly character concept but I made her look more mature and more European. This design actually satisfied me, I like her color palette and hair!

Well this is the end of JoJo Inspired Task post, I will see you again in a different post!

JoJo Inspired Task (Part II)

Welcome back!
Today I will continue my babble about my JoJo inspired task, well, let's take a look about the initial design of my characters!

Clement and Silvius
Clement is the little bro of the main character and I think I should potray him as a man that's full of pride but actually he's just a bummer. At first I made him like this, many people think this is too noble for him so I changed his design, to this. (see below picture, the one below the kid). While Silvius is the main character's son, he's just a typical 7 years old kid who wants to be like his uncle and mother. At the initial design, I made him looks like a demon kid or something with the hair (lol) so I (with some inspiration of Game of Thrones) remake him as a normal kid with more proper clothes and nicer built.

Quiet a different guy now, isn't he? I changed the hair color and the clothing to make him look more pathetic (sorry, Clement). While for Silvius I made him looks like Bran Stark in peasant clothes, but of course there's more of him. I also change the attitude a little bit, I made Clement more furious and Silvius more childish to make them look natural.

That's all for Silvius and Clement, next post will be about Fleta and Reedra!

A JoJo Inspired Task (part 1)

Before we move on to another post that is directly related to JJBA Fashion, let's take a look at my.... task.
Yes.
My task.
I have a final assignment that I, directly and indirectly, inspired by JJBA. It's about the character palette, but I, actually want to put more of fashion in it but it seems that I can not do it due to copyright stuff I'm working on. Well, that aside, let's take a look at the final design of the characters!

What do you think?  I'm actually inspired by Vento Aureo's (JJBA Part V) color palette for this designs.
Vento Aureo characters (beside Giorno Giovanna) has non-bright colors such as dark chocolate, dark blue, black, white, etc. This is actually fits the medieval era that's the setting of the graphic novel. The member of Passione (a mafia group in Vento Aureo) gave me inspiration for the colors, since my graphic novel is a dark fantasy medieval I don't need a bright color if it's not for lighting effect lol.
So, yeah, basically Passione is my inspiration! Wanna take a look at my drawing process? Stay tuned and check for the next post!
